After testing this soil for 4 months on a range of indoor plants such as desert succulents, herbs, mosses, and water-hungry alocasias, I am pleased to report that all plants have thrived. The standout feature of this soil is its excellent water retention – it stays damp but drains effectively. The only improvement I would suggest is a higher perlite content for better soil breathability, but this can easily be remedied by mixing in some perlite myself. I have found that the Miracle-Gro indoor potting mix is highly effective for indoor plants, starting plants, and even for plants placed on covered porches. However, I have noticed that it does not perform well when used outdoors in open spaces, as it tends to develop green residue on the surface.
