Leeandra – March 20, 2024
I recently transitioned my bearded dragon’s enclosure to loose substrate, opting for a mix of substrate from the bio dude and brink plus play sand to save some money. I was pleasantly surprised by how much the coconut coir expanded, meaning I won’t need to purchase more substrate for quite a while. It expands quickly and easily, making it a cost-effective choice for my pet’s habitat.

The product’s compact size makes it easy to store and transport. I use a hammer and chisel to break off flakes from the sides, then crumble them into the desired size. This method suits my needs better than purchasing a large sack of loose material. I will definitely purchase this product again.
Brenda B. – March 23, 2024
The 10-pound brick expanded rapidly and yielded approximately 18 gallons of airy and fluffy potting mix.

I found this coir to be the best value for its size compared to other options I searched for. I placed it in a plastic storage bin, added water, and watched as the brick expanded over time. Once it was ready to use, I mixed it with compost in my garden boxes. The soil around the roots of my plants is now looser, and my plants are thriving. I will definitely be purchasing another brick next summer.
Mrs. Ball – April 19, 2024
I am pleased with the quality of this product as it provided a sufficient amount and was highly effective in absorbing water. It was simple to integrate into my soil to reduce its heaviness and improve air circulation.
Amazon Customer – April 26, 2024
I was pleasantly surprised by the capacity of this product after pouring in multiple kettles of boiling water. I was initially expecting it to hold only a 5-gallon bucket’s worth. I’m glad I opted to use the storage bin instead!
Melissa R. Daniels – April 26, 2024
This product offers great value for the price and expands well when mixed with soil. The only downside is that it can be a little dusty once it dries.
P. Steele – April 27, 2024
I used this product along with perlite and vermiculite that I also bought from Amazon to create my own seed starting and planting mix this year. It worked flawlessly!

I’m using this product for the first time and I must say, I’m quite impressed with how well it’s performing so far.
Marcia Nobles – May 10, 2024
I received the product quickly, and found the compacted block easy to rehydrate. Using hot water made the process faster. Initially, my plants didn’t grow well until I rinsed some of the salt out. Although the rinsing process was a bit tedious, I am pleased with the results. I prefer using coco coir over peat moss in my potting mix because it absorbs water more efficiently and retains it longer.

The plant life is quite impressive.

I am pleased with this product so far. I was able to fill nearly a whole wheelbarrow from just one brick. It allowed me to create 2 raised gardens and fill numerous pots with top mulch to assist with drought conditions. I am hopeful that it will help retain moisture in the garden. I needed around 5-6 milk jugs of warm water to break up the brick before using it.
